Flea Market Finds

Flea Market Finds

It's been a reasonable few weeks for flea market finds with yesterday hitting pay dirt at Savers in Dandenong with this scrumptious plate. I can't work out whether it's from the 50s or 60s ... and if you know the answer or have any stories about plates like this I'd love to hear.

And for $4.99 I thought it was a steal!

Visit Sophie Isobel at Her Library Adventures for more flea market finds.

Good thing for the day

My good thing for the day is so obvious given it's flea market day ... it's the amazing things available in op shops and vintage stores across Melbourne.

I was reading Kirsty's blog at kootoyoo a few minutes ago and she added a list of her favourite places to searching out vintage goodies.

And it brought home to me how amazing Melbourne is for stuff. Sometimes it can be a little harder ... like when you trawl through op shops, but then there are the many amazing vintage places around Melbourne too.

What a gorgeous little plate, the colour is so beautiful it reminds me of an old mug set mum had.

My sister collects Fire King, and that plate looks like it may be one. Might have to do some googling to find out!

You're right, I'm so jealous of all you lovely lucky people who live in/near the Melbourne scene for all things crafty and vintage. Here on the Sunny Coast nobody owns anything old yet!
Great find!

I love this stuff. I collected it for years, I call it lustreware. Unfortunately during "the big cull", it all went. xxNick

I love the pearlescent finish used on this plate! I occasionally see it around but as yet haven't bought a piece for my collection of china! I must do that. Have a lovely week. xo

That Fire King ware used to be very fashionable in the 50s 60s ... My MIL had every single piece ever made. It evokes fond memories ;)
