I haven't commented on any of my New Year's wishes ... one of which was to cook more.
And I have ... for the last two days in a row to be exact!
Now I have to admit to not being the best cook in the world.
My girls are more than a little derisory about my attempts ... their reference to my sponge cake as pancakes should give you some insight.
Dinner from last night ... delicious lamb shanks.
Needless to say I don't make sponge cake ... my fragile self esteen really isn't up to the abuse I get when I do.
But I was happy with the lamb shanks I made tonight for dinner ... cooked up with chickepeas and carrots and served on a bed of creamy mashed potato ... and sprinkled with fresh parsley as garnish.
And because you've been such a good audience a little extra ... spot Clarissa in the top right corner. This is vintage that child ... and I thought I'd managed to keep her out of all the shots.
Clarissa even complimented me on how nice it was!
I'm definitely going to make this again.
