I knew Horace must be feeling better when he wanted to do something after rehab was over. Op shopping (aka thrift stores) was my response; I've wanted to look through the stores in Mentone and Parkdale for ages and Horace is always happy to find a bargain.
And here's Mr Handsome as we were leaving after rehab. Doesn't he look brilliant? (PS Diane/Lloyd: right click on the image and select Open Link in New Window and the image will open up larger in a new window).
We did really well with our op shopping and picked up a second hand nursing home/hospital chair that will be perfect. And for the bargain basement price of $8.50! It is so ugly, upholstered in baby poo brown, but it cost less than a week's hire of a similar chair from the Rehab Hospital and that has to be a good thing. The only thing is it's too low so I've already sourced something to increase the height and we have something for as long as Horace needs it.
The second op shop we went to we found a second hand shower chair. Fortunately we don't need one--we took back the one from the hospital today--but how amazing to find the two different types of chairs in one day.
