I like nothing better than a good rummage and my stash has been little more than a decent stash of old sheets and knitting patterns ... and they're none too exciting in dribs and drabs.
So I thought I'd share this nifty item I got almost exactly a month ago at the Ballarat Super Southern Swap Meet 2010.
I've long wanted one and I never imagined finding one ... and at such a good price.
Mr H and I were on our last legs, wandering around in anticipation of leaving when I spotted my little darling.
It had $22 marked on the top ... too rich for me but the stall holder quickly dropped it to $15. I rooted around in my purse and came up with $12, which he accepted.
When I opened it up it was full of sewing goodies: needles and pins and measuring tapes so it knows exactly what it's expected of a sewing 'basket'.
And doesn't it look wonderful now after a clean up and polish with beautiful old fashioned wax polish?

This is beautiful, they sure are hard to come by, & with goodies inside - lucky you!
mmm, just what I need in the lounge room! SO I don't have to run back and forth, a little sewing box would be great. If you see another one....(bargain them down again, too) :)
What a lovely treasure box. I think I need to spend more time at flea markets!
Oh WOW what a treasure! You definitely got a fabulous find especially with goodies inside! Well done ;)

What a great find - and the price you got it for! Finding the things inside would have been very exciting!!
Great find! Especially with all the bits and pieces inside!
Well spotted. And what a bonus having sewing bits and bobs inside. It will be perfect beside your sewing chair.
ohhh great find with all the goodies in there too! It cleaned up really well, I should do that with mine, had been thinking about painting it but it seemed like sacrilage :)
