It's raining, it's pouring ...

It was pouring on the way to work this morning, grey and hard to see outside the windows ... and it was absolutely brilliant.

I'm not crazy (and why should liking rain be a sign of craziness anyway), but we've been suffering from drought for so long it's hard to remember weather that's not hot and very dry. The last time I remember decent rain was just before Christmas, and the storms were so bad we had slight water damage at home because of a couple of loose tiles.

And it's still raining steadily, over an hour later ... and I hope it lasts a lot longer!

UPDATE: We got 8.2mms of rain (which must be almost 3 ins) between 9am and 5pm, and more is promised for the next couple of days.
