And why wouldn't you when we spent the weekend ...
... embroidering fabric,
... endlessly discussing the merits of fabric (at Patchwork on Central Park, East Malvern),
... sewing fabric to make skirts and quilts,
... watching fabric being screen printed (at the amazing studio of ink and spindle who did a one off print run of this gorgeous chocolate coloured bamboo for us
... quilting fabric (can you believe this quilt was sewing up, had binding added and was quilted in a day? I'm still amazed),
... drooling over goodies made with fabric (at the amazing Nicole Mallalieu Studio in Brunswick),
... perplexed about which fabric to buy (Sheridan, the fabric convention organiser, deep in thought at Amitie in Bentleigh)
... and fortunately doing it with 60 other like minded women because it's so much more understandable when more than one person is doing it!
Thanks guys for a great weekend. I had a blast and I can't wait to catch up again.
(PS What did you tell people? I'm curious as I'd love something better to say next time ... because yes, I'm thinking of going to Sew It Together 2011 in Sydney).

a textile composium ...sounds posh
but what about the knitters..Might have to give it some more thought.
Wow, looks like it was great. A quilt started & finished in a day, incredible!!
...There's to be one in Sydney?????...yippee!!!!!!
Do you think the family will let me go if I tell them I will be attending the Sydney Textiles & Fibre Convention?
I bet everyone had a great time. There's nothing more fun than being with a group of people who enjoy the same hobby!
It was good to meet you, Susan. I told people I was going to a craft bloggers' get-together - then one woman (not that much older than me) said "What's a blog?" However we all described it, it was a great day out. Thanks for the photos - and for making us all wonder if you were going to get back to the group in time after setting up the camera!
It was lovely to meet you Susan. What a fantastic weekend we all had!
Looks like loads of fun and putting faces to names must have been a blast ;) In the past I've simply said "a weekend of stitchin' and bitchin'! "
I think I must of been away for that photo. Just like to say thanks for looking after us. we would of been lost without you, literally. who knows where we would of ended up, maybe timbuctoo!
Lovely meeting you Susan. Thanks for your help. The photo is great. Any chance of getting a larger copy of it?
